Kathleen "Nan" Ann Haadsma passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at age 86. She was born in Detroit, MI to the late Bernard and Rosemary Doyle. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, David C. Haadsma, her daughter, Susan Wright, brother and sister-in-law Lt. Col. Bernard "Mike" and Barbara Doyle, and her sister-in-law, Nancy Antrim. Nan is survived by her children, David K. (Carrie) Haadsma, Judy (Jeff) Dunst, Kathy (Vince) Labozzetta, Tom (Atsumi) Haadsma, John Haadsma and son-in-law, and Terry Wright. Her grandchildren are Evan, Josh, Kyle and...

Kathleen "Nan" Ann Haadsma passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at age 86. She was born in Detroit, MI to the late Bernard and Rosemary Doyle. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, David C. Haadsma, her daughter, Susan Wright, brother and sister-in-law Lt. Col. Bernard "Mike" and Barbara Doyle, and her sister-in-law, Nancy Antrim. Nan is survived by her children, David K. (Carrie) Haadsma, Judy (Jeff) Dunst, Kathy (Vince) Labozzetta, Tom (Atsumi) Haadsma, John Haadsma and son-in-law, and Terry Wright. Her grandchildren are Evan, Josh, Kyle and Malea Wright, Emily (Kurt) Nelson, great grandchild "Chip", David, Patrick, Colleen, Brian, and Amy Haadsma, Jeffrey and Matthew Dunst, Nick and Connor Labozzetta, Jefferson and Elise Haadsma, and John, Maddie and Andrew Haadsma. Also surviving are her brother, Jerry (Nancy) Doyle, brother- in- law, Dan Haadsma, brother-in-law Dan (Pat) Antrim, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Following Nan's graduation from Immaculata High School, she attended the University of Michigan. After graduating in 1952 with a teaching degree, Nan traveled and taught elementary school. Nan was a talented artist and also loved to play bridge, volunteer, read, and most importantly, spend time with family at the cottage. Nan will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 am on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church, (2275 Diamond Avenue, NE in Grand Rapids). Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral mass, from 10:00 - 11:00 am, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, as well.
